How we score

One opinion, four checkable parts.

An SG Score is SuccessGuru's editorial opinion, from 0 to 100. It adds four parts: evidence behind the method (40), claim honesty (25), public record (15), and value per dollar (20).

You can follow a point on a receipt back to a study, a court or regulator record, or the person's own words. A clean public record earns all 15 points in that part. Hall of Shame is not a low score. It is reserved for a criminal conviction or an adjudicated finding tied to the advice business.

The bands

• EVIDENCE-BACKED, 75 to 100: the method tracks the research and the marketing mostly matches it.
• MIXED, 55 to 74: real value, with claims or products that run ahead of the evidence.
• OVERSTATED, 35 to 54: the headline promises fall short of what the evidence supports.
• HALL OF SHAME: convictions or adjudicated findings only. The score is usually under 35.
